Sinong may libro ni Samuelson? (Economics)(

DISCLAIMER:  Photo on the left is not the actual photo of the book.  I just want to prove a point, okee, that a book of such sort exists. =P

Palagi kong nakakalimutan i-post to.

Anyway, baka po may magandang-loob sa inyo na gumamit o bumili ng libro ni Samuelson for your Econ 100.1 (I'm not sure if that's the one in the photo on the left)?  Pwede po bang mahiram (for one sem lang naman)?  Praaaamis, ibabalik ko po sya nang buong-buo, walang punit, walang laway, etc etc.  Pleeeeaaasseeeee?!

Thanks you in adbans!  =)

Horoscope

Gaya ng ilan diyan, hindi ako ganun naniniwala sa horoscope.  Pero binabasa ko pa rin.  Not for its substantial value, but for its entertainment value.  Minsan, masarap pagtawanan yung mga horoscope na super absurd.  Or ma-wow sa mga hulang sapul na sapul na parang nanay mo lang yung nagsulat nung horoscope mo for that day.

Today, I checked four sites for my horoscope.  Wala lang, parang na-feel ko lang i-check.  At eto ang lumabas:

Site#1:  Horoscope.com
It would be wise to avoid being overconfident right now, because you are likely to miss some important details otherwise. An important project will need to be completed today and you will need all your powers of concentration if it is to be a success. A colleague or friend will have the answers you need!

Site#2:  Astrology.com
Life is good for you and your friends and you should find that they can help with a surprising array of issues in your life. You may feel like a kid in some ways, but it's not so bad!

Site#3:  Astrology-Online.com
Elders may get you going today. You could pick up valuable knowledge through conversations with experienced individuals. Travel will entice you; however, a tendency to overspend is quite possible.

Site#4:  Clickthecity.com
You will have proof today of just how important friends are. They will bring you good luck or favors you need to fulfill your daily responsibilities. Watch out for eyestrain.

Nakakatawa lang, kasi lahat sila may common theme:  that friends will prove to be very important today.  And they did!  Aside from the great party thrown by Lau at Friuli's (Happy Birthday dear!), I'm so thankful for a certain friend right now for being a very good friend to me today.  Alam na niya kung sino siya, hehe.  Wala lang.  Sobrang natuwa lang ako sa pag-uusap namin this afternoon.  Exactly how I pictured it would be.

Ayun.  Kahit pala di sakto ang horoscope, at least... somehow, meron silang tinatamaan.  Hehehe.  =P

Ikaw, ano horoscope mo today?

Strawberry Fields

I believe this picture represents the "ultimate emo" persona. What's more emo than an unshaved, desolate Jude (from Across the Universe) staring at a row of pinned-up strawberries on canvas, bleeding endless pints of red, imagining each and every piece of fruit as a morsel of his own heart?  (a slight mistake:  do strawberries bleed red juice, anyway?)

No, I'm perfectly fine.  Life is perfectly fine.  Actually, it can't be any more fine than this.  But there's just this stinging feeling I can't seem to take away (and no, it's not even the itsy-bitsy trivial problem I had last night).  I don't know.  Sometimes this is why a period of emo-ness is quite difficult to handle: coz it's difficult to explain where it's coming from.  It's hard to comprehend, that's why it's hard to find a solution for it.  Just like a wart that unsuspectingly grows on some weird part of your body and unwittingly goes away in a few months, sans the presence of any kind of cure.  Sucks, no?

What's funny (and a bit weird) about this "phase," if you may call it that, is that I'm not alone in this struggle.  There's Ate Eliza, who can't seem to figure out what's wrong with her either.  There's my cousin, Annalyn.  There's Annie, who just came back to school two months after graduating.  And a whole slew of other people.  So tell me, what's this, a global epidemic?

In any case, I hope this "phase" ends soon.  Sumasakit lang ang ulo ko eh.

Shake it off*

Haha.

Yun eh!

Pero seryoso.  For some weird reason.  Na-e-emo talaga ako.

Ching, kasalanan mo 'to.  Pero salamat na rin.  Pwede na ko mamatay.  =P

Joke lang, Kuya Jess!  Hehehe. Tsaka na.  Pag media mogul na ko.  =P

On the J192 Professor Change

While it seems highly likely that the recent change in professors for J192 (Teodoro getting the boot, Chua gets in place) is due to a recent argument between two professors in the department printed on PJR Reports, the case is not actually so.

So I emailed Ma'am Yvonne Chua because the news alarmed me as well (just imagine my horror upon seeing TWO Yvonne Chuas in my enlisted CRS list.  I mean, is that even possible?  No wait, is that even sane to begin with?).  Here's her reply.  And I quote:

Dear JM,

No mystery here.  It was a technical matter: I was underloaded and had to be given another subject. As a full-time faculty member, I am required to teach 12 units per semester.

I'm cc'ing the chair my reply so she'd know that the change of professors  has caused undue concern among you and some students.

Best regards,

Yvonne

Well, that's from Ma'am Chua herself.  I would've loved it if Ma'am Khan said it herself to clear the issue, but then I'm afraid to ask a second time.  I'm not an investigative journalist anyway.  At least not yet.  Or I don't know, will I ever be?  Heh.  OT.

Little background:  Teodoro force-retired first sem last year.  He came back as a lecturer.  Which means he doesn't get priority for major classes such as 192.  Regal shocker to have seen his name for 192 next sem.

But then again you gotta question the timing.  Why change it now?  Why not notice the lapse in units then, when they were submitting the schedule?  Did one of Ma'am Chua's classes get dissolved prematurely?  Highly unlikely.  These things can only be answered by the demigods in our little Mount Olympus (as how Anjo puts it).

In the end, we can all just speculate.
