On the J192 Professor Change

While it seems highly likely that the recent change in professors for J192 (Teodoro getting the boot, Chua gets in place) is due to a recent argument between two professors in the department printed on PJR Reports, the case is not actually so.

So I emailed Ma'am Yvonne Chua because the news alarmed me as well (just imagine my horror upon seeing TWO Yvonne Chuas in my enlisted CRS list.  I mean, is that even possible?  No wait, is that even sane to begin with?).  Here's her reply.  And I quote:

Dear JM,

No mystery here.  It was a technical matter: I was underloaded and had to be given another subject. As a full-time faculty member, I am required to teach 12 units per semester.

I'm cc'ing the chair my reply so she'd know that the change of professors  has caused undue concern among you and some students.

Best regards,

Yvonne

Well, that's from Ma'am Chua herself.  I would've loved it if Ma'am Khan said it herself to clear the issue, but then I'm afraid to ask a second time.  I'm not an investigative journalist anyway.  At least not yet.  Or I don't know, will I ever be?  Heh.  OT.

Little background:  Teodoro force-retired first sem last year.  He came back as a lecturer.  Which means he doesn't get priority for major classes such as 192.  Regal shocker to have seen his name for 192 next sem.

But then again you gotta question the timing.  Why change it now?  Why not notice the lapse in units then, when they were submitting the schedule?  Did one of Ma'am Chua's classes get dissolved prematurely?  Highly unlikely.  These things can only be answered by the demigods in our little Mount Olympus (as how Anjo puts it).

In the end, we can all just speculate.
